February 12, 200620 yr Hi AllI have just built a new system and this time I have gone for an ATI card, Powercolor 850XT, instead of my usual nVidia card. Could someone advise please on the best driver version to use for FS2004. I am currently using V6.1 with the Catalyst Control Centre but I am getting lots of warnings from ZoneAlarm that cli.exe wants to access the internet. All this is to do with the Control Centre software. Why does the Control Centre always need internet access?I loaded a new copy of FS2004 and when I tried to run the progarm Zonealarm constantly came up upo with the warning and FS2004 wouldn't run. If I don't load the Catalyst Control Center all works well. I know I could just give it access to the internet but I like to know what is going out from my machine.I have read about the ATI Tray Tools, what are these the previous version of the Control Centre.Any advice would be welcome.ThanksPhil Asus Maximus Hero XI , i7-8086, 16 Gb RAM, nVidia GTX 1080 ti
February 12, 200620 yr Why does the Control Centre always need internet access?Indeed.First thing to do is dump CCC and it's associated apps. It is far more than anyone needs to tweak video drivers. Then head over to Driverheaven. There you will find a link to Drivercleaner Pro. Use this to remove any previous driver installs. Follow the Readme to the letter and it will do a great job for you. Once the cleaning is done head back over to Driverheaven and link to Omega's site. Try his drivers based on the Cat 6.1's. Included in his package is the latest version of ATI Tray Tools. Use this tweaker to configure the drivers. Finally, check out this thread for assistance in using ATI Tray Tools for configuring the drivers for FS9: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=13692&page=2Hope this helps,Greg
