Nvidia graphics corruption on EVGA GeForce 6600LE

Featured Replies

Hello folks, I am looking for advice from someone who may have faced a similiar situation.I have a new AMD64 Dual-Core based system (described below) with a single EVGA GeForce 6600LE video card. I have the latest Nvidia driver (81.98) loaded. While in "cockpit" view, I have no problems, but whenever I change to another view, such as spot, tower, top-down, etc, I start getting graphics corruption/stuttering. And it also appears that I am getting what can best be described as "sudden changes in simulation-rate". The graphics issues present themselves as bitmaps being replaced with other random bitmaps on taxiway signs, buildings, and pavement, along with an extremely annoying flickering of said bitmaps. The changes in sim-rate also only occur in an external view, which at this point, I'm not sure if it is video related, or dual-core cpu not supported by FS9. Also, if I hide the panel using Shift-[ the problem occurs. Once I bring the panel back...no more stuttering.I have gone into the display properties of my system and on the Nvidia tab, there is an option for "Performance and Quality settings". In this section it lists various applications, FS9 being one of them. I have the capability of changing many settings that are applied whenever FS9 is running. I have changed all of these settings from on to off, one at a time and still cannot resolve this issue. FS9 is the only app affected. All other applications work ok, but I do not have any other games loaded that are video intensive. I'm only a flight-sim junkie, no Doom, Quake, etc. hahaAlso, for what it's worth, clouds do not experience this flickering issue. It only seems to be on ground-based objects. I'm thinking Mipmaps. While I have the flight sim visual settings cranked up pretty high, changing these settings do not resolve the issue. Hi Tracy, We do have somewhat similar situations so I thought I'd pass this on to you.I also have a new computer with dual AMD64s and an Evga 6800 (see below) and I'm having a flickering problem in certain situations. Basically, I'm not having graphics problems while FS9 is running (flying, taxiing whatever). The problem I have is that when I'm finished making changes to various option screens and want to go back into FS9, I get flickering (a few seconds) of the option screen and then it does goes correctly into FS9. I get this flickering in other "utility" screens (weather etc), again once I click to go back into FS9.Also, I recently had to uninstall/reinstall FS9 because I got extreme flickering of the FS9 startup screen when I tried to start FS9. At that time the cursor as well as the display were flickering. I wasn't able to do anything but reboot WinXp. I tried a few more times but the flickering continued and I had to uninstall/reinstall. I've been running FS9 on my old PIII since FS9 first was sold and never had anything like the problems I've mentioned. While our problems are different, our systems are somewhat similar and I too wounder if it could be a dual core AMD64 and video card problem?Good luck to both of us!Have a good day.
