Dual core CPU settings?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,Thanks for you help and suggestions for my motherboard/cpu upgrade... Well finally I am all up and running. Here is my new setup... ASrock dual motherboard with an AMD64x2 3800, 1024 corsair ddr400, ATI 850pro (agp) and an old Augigy1 sound card.I have another quesion for you guys... are there any specific settings I need to adjust to get the most out of the dual core cpu? I was wondering if it was possible ( or makes any difference?) to run things like ASv6 and the RealityXP GNS trainers on 1 of the cores and leave fs9 to run on the other? Are there any other settings I should adjust or tweak? Thanks again,Paul

Hi,I have a dual core machine and find to get the best performance from FS I assign it to 1 core only and run it as high-priority. FS does not use both cores anyway so as far as the program is concerned you are running an AMD64 3800 but the advantage comes with assigning everything else to the other core. You can automate this by using a program called imagecfg.exe (google it) to set the core preference of each program and then writing a batch file to assign the priority.Enjoy,Geoff
