May 11, 200620 yr My 3+ year old Dell is starting to go. Last night one of the fans failed, and the fans seem to be special size. I couldn't find one that fit right. Anyway, it has been time to get rid of this for awhile now. I am looking at building my own PC, but I don't know a lot about it. I used to work in PC support, but that was many years ago. I am good with the simple stuff like swapping out cards and memory, but I am clueless when it comes to what processor works on what motherboard, etc. I read sites like Toms Hardware, but most of that stuff goes way over my head. Anyway, my goal is to just build a PC now to replace my aging Dell (see specs below). I am not really worried about getting something to run FSX, as I will probably stick with fs2004 for awhile. Something that could be upgraded again would be nice. Right now, all I play is Battlefield 2 and FS2004. I ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
May 12, 200620 yr Craig, Go up and look at the thread I started about which AMD processor to buy. Scott answered with an link to toms hardward about a new Intel dual core 2.66 which can easily be overclocked to 4.1, I read the whole article and was totally impressed. The cpu is only 130 and a mb to fit it is about 250...........I ordered both and figured I'd give it a try as Tom's articles are always on the up and up.BestClayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T.
