June 13, 200619 yr Im thinkng of getting a 19in or larger one for SIMMING....is it wise to do so....Thanks
June 13, 200619 yr That depends on your budget. If you are rich and can afford a super high quality, super high resolution 19" with a tight horizontal pitch then for sure its a good idea. If you were thinking of getting a generic type LCD thats not super high end, then I suspect you wll be dissappointed. Generic 19" LCDs are typically 1280x1024 which sucks on a 19" LCD (comparible to a 20" in CRT). Color banding becomes noticable.By the way, do not be fooled by marketing hype. The true measure of LCD is not the speed of black to white but grey to grey. Many so called "Gamer" LCDs are rather poor at grey to grey. The next thing to consider is not the "contrast" but the black values. Black is very hard for LCDs to do (nature of the beast) and many so called "high contrast" or "bright" LCDs do so at the expense of black. And you can not imagine how important black is until you see it wrong.Me I opted for 2 High Quality Sony 17" LCDs this time around. :)CheersShad
