RANDOM RESTARTING!!!!

Featured Replies

Geez this is driving me crazy. Bought the PC off of readysetpc.com (pro-gaming). Check out the specs there not to shabby. I have been having this problem for the past few days. Its like someone is pushing the restart button behind my back!!!! Searched the forums and did the usual like put a fan on the computer but it still restarted!! I couldnt believe it. Please if you can help me with this it would be appreciated so much!! Alex

There are a couple of reasons for spontaneous restarts:- CPU overheated (Check fan, check CPU temperature)- Corrupt chipset drivers (reinstall drivers)- Incorrect BIOS settings (memory timings)- Failing or inadequate power supply (replace)- Buggy software (remove)To pinpoint remotely what causes your problem is impossible. Just step through the options, review what changes you made before the reboots occur and try to pinpoint the cause.Good luck!Pat

There was also a virus or worm that caused this. I experienced it some years ago. (Was it called Sasser.b or something?)

Try running Memtest.http://www.memtest86.com/This can help you determine if it's a hardware issue. I had a similar problem. Turned out to be a bad memory module.Best of luck.

Blaster worm.Anyway, if not resolved, I suggest you check Event Viewer for any errors on the matter.Btw. why don't you contact those guys there where you bought your PC, and ask them what crap they sold you?
