What CRT you got before? No LCD can match the CRT even the cheap models in term of blackness... Either grey gets black to compensate for LCD:s not able to get 100 % black or it get brightened up it seems...My sony has a 1300:1 contrast ratio but still I see less things in the black than with my CRT. Now that is a high end Philips 202P40 22" Diamondtron. If you just had a standard CRT then I understand you get better colours for sure.
