September 7, 200619 yr I may need to replace the AMD processor under warranty. I was using a custom heat sink and a recommended thermal paste (came with the heat sink). The AMD warranty states that it will be void if another heat sink was used. I have traces of the paste (which is very stick) on the CPU and I figure I have to clean it up really well to lift any suspicion that I was using another heat sink. What is the best way to clean it up? BTW, I never overclocked.Michael J. Michael J.
September 7, 200619 yr Ether you can do it the "Household way" and use isopropyl alcohol, use a little with a paper towel to dissolve most of the gunk. Then with a fresh piece of paper towel a little wet clean the rest. Or use something like ArctiClean. http://www.arcticsilver.com/arcticlean.htmI use the first and never fails me :)
