September 27, 200619 yr Hi everyone.Simple question:Is there a laptop available that will run FSX acceptably?I was looking at the latest Dell XPS and Alienware laptop systems and I'm not convinced they are up to the job...Should I just soldier on with FS9 until there is a laptop available with Vista and a DX10 graphics card?Cheers. Nick
September 27, 200619 yr There was an exceptional discussion on this topic, in this forum I believe or the general discussion forum, about two weeks ago. A gamer insider showed some escellent screen shots and explained laptop models and tweaking. His knowledge and clear explanations were extremely well presented. The performance was far beyond anything I or others would expect, from the tone of the thread. It shouldn't be hard to find.
September 27, 200619 yr My notebook, which is the Dell XPS' little brother, runs FSX about 25% quicker than my desktop. Interestingly, I tried the final FSX version at the AVSIM conference on the Dell XPS2 notebooks they had there and it was quite noticably jerkier and slower than my 9300 FSX beta 3 experience, so I'm not sure what was going on there. There are a few with powerful notebooks who lurk these forums. Just wait until FSX is released and seek their comments on its performance.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
