October 7, 200619 yr I need some help with running fs2004 on a spare PC. p4 2.4 socket 478, 512m RDRAM(800), ati7000 AGP 4x.It's old (3.5 years), impossible to upgrade the ram (RAMBUS obsolete and expensive) or overclock (intel mobo). I'm looking to add a cheap gfx card to run fs2004. It will be run at a resolution 1280x1024 max (17" LCD). I don't want a too-power hungry card ..Any suggestions?Neil.
October 7, 200619 yr IS there a possiblity of investing in a MB CPU combo? Any money on a video card is not going to do much. Your MB and CPU is way too old. You would only be pouring more bad money in that.JMO.Manny Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
November 28, 200619 yr er..bump..No money for a MB/CPU/memory combo - have baby + mortgage. A new comp would cost 10x the price of a new GFX. I am going to buy either a second hand 9600xt, 9800 pro or even a 6600...although the latter 2 may be too power hungry..Anyone used the 6600 (non GT) ? how does it compare to a 9800 pro?Neil.
