October 10, 200619 yr Although I haven't really been enthused about flying the "bigger Iron", lately I've been thinking of trying out the Boeing 737 especially after flying one at the Avsim Conference in Dulles, Virginia recently. So, before purchasing the PMDG model, I downloaded the 'Boeing 737 experience' model and will practice with this one til I go for the more detailed one. But the thing I'm noticing is when attempting to calibrate the throttles and the CH throttle quadrant. I've checked the sensitivities in FS9 and tried using the registered version of FSUIPC as well as setting the calibrations. The result is that the engines are at idle speed but the levers are at a midway point between the detent ant full forward. If I move the levers back past this halfway point, the engines go into reverse thrust. I would like to have the full use of the levers between the detent and full forward for idle to full thrust and the full back position behind the detent for reverse thrust.I have tried the CH software before but find it just too complicated. The problem I see at this point is that I have only a very limited movement of the levers and trying to adjust engine thrust in flight would seem diffulcult without moving into reverse thrust at FL 390.For some reason, when calibrating with FSUIPC, I don't see any value change at the lowerer end when trying to set the values under the section dedicated to separate throttles.I would appreciate any help. I have read the instructions that come with FSUIPC but don't get the results I'm looking for. Thanks for suggestions.
October 10, 200619 yr Sounds like you're not calibrating properly using FSUIPC. You have to use the reverse thrust detents that come later on in the page selections and match those to the throttle settings so that one takes over from the other at the appropriate point. You should post in the FSUIPC forum where Pete Dowson can give you specific advice. Be prepared by writing a much more detailed explanation of what you have and haven't done - the information above is nowhere near enough information for the specific advice you need. They'll want to know precisdely what calibration steps you have already taken using FSUIPC.Allcott
October 10, 200619 yr Author Thanks Allcott, that helped. I forgot that there was another setting for the reverse thrusters. Now the idle is just above the detent, but on entering the detent the reversers are activated. I'm trying to get the reversers activated behind the detent. I'll try the FSUIPC Forum, if I can find it.Jim
October 10, 200619 yr Author Went to Peter's site and was able to assign one lever to the reversers as described by Peter and now have full range of the throttles without them going into reverse thrust upon setting them to idle.Thanks.
