Track IR 4 Pro - Getting Dizzy, arghhh !

Featured Replies

My Track IR 4 Pro does work but a couple of weird things happen and I need help (I can never get through to the NaturalPoint website to even see if they have a forum -- it just processes forever):If I am in the left seat and move my head (along the X axis) across the center line of the cockpit (on the monitor, that is), all the views suddenly get turned upside down or backwards and the whole view is totally destabilized. I have to re-center the device. If I am in the left seat and move my head left more than an inch or two, a similar thing happens.I've checked the sensors and observe that in the tracking screen, one of the three greens turns red when I move thus. This indicates no tracking of that (red) senor. But I move only a couple of inches doing this manoever--how can it be out of the field of vision of the sensor? And why should the entire cockpit Track IR view go mad ?Is this upside-down/backwards whirlygig I am getting into caused by a mis or mal-positioning on the sensors or of me? Can one not lean across more than the halfway point of any cockpit as I am trying to do?Appreciate any guidance, thanks!JS

JS,I've experienced similar and found that sunlight from a window to my side was interfering with the Track IR. I suspect an interior light could also cause a problem. Does this happen at night with all lights out?Hope this helps,

OPen the software and load the Heads. You should see if the program is following your movements accurately.Next, open the Tracking page and see if there is any `noise` in the picture. If there is you can use the options menu to try to filter out the unwanted noise, or better still eliminate the diret or indirect light source that is causing it.If necessary, you can move the tracking head round to the side of the computer if it neesd a `shaded` spot. The software is clever enough to have the option to accommodate mounting both sides - or even the underside - of a monitorAllcott
