October 14, 200619 yr Nothing at all to do with FSX :)I have recently purchased a Samsung 21" wide screen LCD, and run it at it's native 1680*1050. My older monitor, a Sony 4:3 (non-wide) monitor is still good, so I decided to attempt to stretch my desktop across both monitor using nView. Of course, the wide-screen gets now a feed of lower resolution video, I assume the rule here is that lowest res monitor sets up the resolution for all monitors. (I've previously used two 4:3 monitors in extended desktop and loved the ability to be able to use one for simming and one for e-mail, etc.).Also tried feeding the same image to both LCD's, and while that appeared to work much better, I did note that FS went to a black screen after a while, and I wondered if there was some incompatibility going on with mixing a wide and non-wide screen together?Anyone done anything with dual monitors when one is wide and one is not?Thanks- Bruce.AMD 64*2 4500+, 2GB Corsair TWINX2048-3500LL, ASUS A8N32-SLI, nVidia 6800GT. October 14, 200619 yr Whilst I haven't mixed wide and standard screen configurations, I have had standard screen setups with different resolutions. I never tried span mode with them because the monitors were phycially different in size (17", 20" and 17"), so it would look wierd spanned anyway. You should definately be able to use dual view without causing issue with FS9. I used to run 1152x864 as my main screen, with 2 x 1024x768 as secondary screens and everything used to undock and position beautifully. Whilst this may not directly help with the issue you are currently experiencing, it at least show that you should be able to do it.Gary 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
October 14, 200619 yr Author Thanks Gary,Mine is a relatively new system (I built about 6 weeks ago), so its highly possible that the black screen (FS appeared to lock up too, although I had acess still to other computer functions, so only FS was affected) is related to something in the hardware config that I need to find. Thanks again, Bruce.
