October 18, 200619 yr Ive searched through a lot of places looking for optimal specs for FSX. Is Vista required for optimal performance? Or at least decent performance? Direct x 10? I just bought a new pc and was wondering if its good enough to play FSX Reasonably well? Any help or your experience would be great! My spec is as follows: LIVE Athlon 64 X2 5000+(2.60GHz, 512K) (core 2 processor), 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz RAM320GB (2x160GB) 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive - Dual HDD Config256MB ATI Radeon X1300 Pro Graphics Card.

The GPU is going to hold you back a tip go at least for 512mb GPU ;-)Andr André
October 18, 200619 yr Yeah i was thinking that 256 wasn't enough but sure it will do until I can afford a faster one. The sliders will tip a good bit to the right hopefully :) It all comes down to that! How far will the sliders go to the right without losing frams rates..!!
October 18, 200619 yr Its a decent midrange machine. I wouldnt pay more than $1200 for it though. I would go with a core2 machine if i were you. AMD processors have been left in the dust for the most part and their price is still absurd considering how they fare against the core2's. The vid card is very much on the low end and wont be good for fsx, but i would hold off until dx10 cards are out before you spend a bunch of money on a better card. A 7900gs is a good performance/price option to last you for the next 6 months until dx10 cards come out mainstream.
