October 27, 200619 yr Just upgraded my Radeon 9800 Drivers from the ATI site.. and I now get the following:Flight simulator is not working with your video card.Verify that you have the latest drivers installed for your video card.Flight Simulator will now exit. --------- | OK | ---------I think its hardly OK.... anyone got any ideas??
October 28, 200619 yr Hi Chris,How did you upgrade? What drivers version?Did you remove the old drivers? Are you using the control panel. Did you use a driver cleaner to remove all old driver droppings?Bob.. Bob Prince

It should be working. I'm on a 9800 pro, with the latestdrivers, and mine works. Sounds like you didn't flushthe old, before you installed the new. Try un installing the drivers, reboot to VGA driver, and try a fresh install.Using a driver cleaner would make sure nothing is left behind to mess things up. On my box, FSX would give that error on my old driver. I had to install the new driver toget FSX to run. But....The new "unified" ATI capture driver is a non funny joke. Wouldn't let me record TV.. I ended up having to install *twin* XP systems on two hard drives.. One for TV/everyday use, and another for FSX. What was ATI thinking with this new capture driver? It makes the 9800 proAIW card useless.Oh well... I worked around it as usual. It's a pain having to reboot for the sim, or visa versa.. I have to pick whichdrive I want in the bios setup. But at least I can record TVagain, and still use FSX..MK Mark Keith
October 28, 200619 yr Author I got it working.. I had removed them properly the first time, guess not everything was out of the system... works fine now.. also overclocked the card now and getting a little bit better performance... I think with another 1GB of RAM I may be able to have fly FSX.. the only other upgrade i'm considering is the new X1950AGP card.. New Marshall amp and cab comes before new computer this time :)

I'd probably plan for a total upgrade if you want it to run good, and I'd probably let the hardwaresmoke clear for a while. I plan to upgrade myself, but I'm not in a big hurry. The longer I wait, the more speed I will get for my money. New Marshall amp? I think I heard they had a new line coming out. Haven't heard much as far as tone reports though..I like the old stuff myself. I have a "plexi clone" that is a traynor YBA-1A bassmaster mk2. My other "clean" channel is anold fender super reverb.
