November 18, 200619 yr Hello. I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this.It seems to me I read something awhile back about problems with USB 2 ports and GoFlight's modules. Something about them not being compatible together and that any 2.0 ports had to be switched to 1.1 mode. The specifics would be for FS9 but this is the only hardware specific forum I can find here now.If anyone has any knowledge about this I would be very interested in your feedback. Thanks very much!
November 19, 200619 yr I have 8 GF units and all work fine on a single DELL XPS Gen 4. There's nothing that precludes USB 2.0 port usage. In fact if you have the original GF-MCP, for e.g., you really SHOULD connect it directly to a USB 2.0 port on your PC in order to get it to work with maximum efficiency and reliability. Most GF units can be run through a powered or unpowered USB hub but more demanding devices such as the MCP really should go via a USB 2.0 hub on the PC. The DRIVERS are a different issue and might be of some significance or consequence in that they can make a difference as to reliability of GF units. I think I use version 1.54 for all of my GF units and I have no issues with them. Earlier versions did kick up issues from time to time. Hope this is of some use to you.Cheers,JS Jonathan Sacks Dell XPS Gen 4, Pentium IV Northwood extreme 3.8Ghz, 3Ghz RAM, eVGA 7900 GTO, 12 GoFlight modules plus MCP-PRO AP and EFIS, GF pedestal, CH rudder pedals, CH throttle quadrant, 42" LG LED, 24" DELL LCD, Windows XP, FS2004, FSUIPC 3.96 FS Autostart 1.1 (Build 11), FS Navigator 4.6, UT, FE, GE, REX, PMDG, Level-D, PSS, etc.
