Is my system powerful enough for FSX?

Featured Replies

Hi, I've just purchased a Fujitsu/Siemans Scaleo P computer described as having following specs: Athlon 64x2 dual 3800+ 1.81GHz 2.00GB of RAM VGA ATI X1300 64/512M PCle TV-OUT Graphic Card. Is there anyone who is using this PC, or one with similar specs satisfactory with FSX? I would be using the new version of PMDG's 737 NG when available. Thanks :-hmmm

Nope, that won't be enough to run FSX and especially not when you add the PMDG into the mix. Sorry, but the grpahic card is the weakest link, but as soon as you change that you simply move the bottleneck to the CPU.Allcott

Hi Allcott, Thought as much. It works fine with FS9 plus add-ons. Looks as though I'm going to have traffic free roads for a few more years. Thanks Marty

> anyone who is using this PC, or one with similar specs > satisfactory with FSX?It's always the same story: define "satisfactory". Comparing to yours, my system is terrible: A64 3000+ 1G ram and radeon 9800pro 128M, and I still find it "satisfactory" after applying some published tweaks and playing with sliders. And I afforded even to enjoy in some small percent of moving traffic, all with avg 15 fps.Of course, running complex addons is out of question, and when 737NG comes out I'll be heading for a computer store.

Must admit I was feeling a bit down having just forked out
