HELP - Cant get FXS to install, driving me crazy

Featured Replies

Hi guys,First of all I am new to the forum today, and have had a look around, and looks like an amazing place, going to loose lots of time in here.I have just got FSX Deluxe, and I cannot get it to install, it will not recognise Disk 2 when I try to install it. I have updated firmware on my Pioneer DVB110BK DVD drives, and updated everything I can think of. I am pulling out whats left of my hair. Can anyone offer any advice or suggestions please. I have tried another copy and thats not it.hardware is AMD Opteron 146, 1 gb memory, 250GB HD, and X1900xtx GPU...Thanks in advance.Gene

email microsoft they will reply with a problem or ask you to send back and they should send you a replacment.

In another post, it was mentioned that one could copy the two DVDs to your hard drive, then install from there. Once installed, you delete the files you copied over. Have not tried it myself, but it might solve your problem without having to rely on MS support. If it does not work - well, you've only lost an hour or so of your time.FYI - your 1GB memory is a bit low for FSX - I'd suggest that you purchase another 1GB to avoid FSX having to page memory to disk, which will significantly reduce performance.

I would definitely call or otherwise contact Microsoft, and get replacement media.I've heard of Activation install errors, but not errors where it wouldn't recognize disk 2. Sounds like bad media.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2530 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian
