Is a nvidia 7600gs good for fsx?

I guess compared to what? Right now I'm running an old ATI 9600XT, so for me I think the 7600GS would be a step up. But of course a 7900GS is going to be better. Neither will allow you to run full sliders.scott s..

The Inno3D 7600GS 256mb PCI-E is doing OK for me. It 'could' be better, but from what I see elsewhere here, even folks with monster video cards are suffering from lowish FPS. With all the tweaks, re-sized textures etc, I get a steady 24FPS except over major cities; London is dreadful, primarily I believe because there are 4 large airports in close proximity. I keep water set to low 2 so I get the nice animations, but I don't like the excessive reflection effects when set higher, so that's great for me! I have most sliders at aprox 75%, except for autogen which I keep fiddling with in the FSX .cfg, and AI; I use Traffic 2005 (patched) and keep commercial at around 20% for busy airports that are still useable! My CPU is a Pentium D 345 (3.4ghz x2).So, yes, as long as you're realistic in your expectations, that 7600GS will work fine! Remember, your CPU and system RAM are vital too.....As a side note, with this setup, FS9 runs like a dream, everything pretty much maxed, except AI, and i maintain a solid 24FPS (locked) everywhere, except Heathrow where it drops into mid-teens!

i dont mind being realistic in my expectations, but FSX was not being realistic in theres.you have good equptment and you still are getting average results, still tweaking and trying to get better frame rates. we go out and buy super equiptment just to get average results. FSX wins no matter what because we went out and bought it.yeah we saw what was coming in the demo , but i thought for sure that it could be corrected.Now im being told that there is no computer to run it right and to its full potenial.buy the time that is done FS11 will be out.like i said FSX wins no matter what..............................Robert
