Nvidia 6200 problem

Featured Replies

Hello All,I am running FS9 with an Nvidia 6200 GPU for my primary monitor and an Nvidia 5200FX on my second monitor. My problem is that the 'Select and Aircraft' screen is black. I cannot view the aircraft I have selected. Not a big problem, but is there a 'work around'? I have the latest Nvidia drivers from the Nvidia website. I have set all of the Nvidia settings per the many tweaking threads I have read.Comp specs:AMD 2400+CPU.1 gig ram.GeForce 6200 and 5200FX graphics cards.120 gig main hard drive.80 secondary hard drive (for addon scenery).Windows XP Professional, fully updated. Not the best system, built it myself. Thanks,Dandog

I had that problem also. One of two things that worked for me. Upgrade graphic drivers, and another thing that happens to me is if I close down FS9 in the full window mode and restart I have the black screen. If I close down FS9 in window mode no problem. I think that is a nvidia problem. Give it a try. Bob

I had the same problem. And now after changing my settings I

Kind regards

It seems to be a peculiarity of Nvidia cards. In my case any AA over 4 does that or if I should have services running in the background when I start FS9. In other words, it never happens when I use FSAutostart and the computer has lots of excess resources, if I should go into FS9 for just a test or something and have the normal services running and a browser that window is black. Lastly should I ever add AA (which I don't) in the sim I will also lose that window.Try a quick test with 4 or even 2X AA and see what happens. There was another discussion on this a few days back and I learned from that one. Lastly if that's the only problem with the card consider it a good thing.

Hello Again,Could not read flightsummers attachments. However, I'll take the sage advice of being happy that this is my 'Big' problem. I am selecting aircraft in windowed mode and can see what I'm doing. Thanks for the replies and advice.Dandog
