CH Flightsim Yoke (USB) partially functioning

Hi all; I have been using the CH Flightsim yoke since FS9 together with CH Pro pedals and did not encounter any problems until lately when I had FSX. As it is now, the yoke does not have all left side views when depressing the POV hat switch. I can only get the right front quadrant, right side quadrant and right rear quadrant views. Also, buttons 2 (knee pad), 6 (gear down) and 10 (reverse cycle view) are not functioning. On firing up FS9 or FSX to the default situation (inside aircraft cockpit view), the right side quadrant (the door) becomes the default view. I think I must have inadvertently corrupted the FSX's xml of the Control folder when I tried to fix the "gear up" gear down" section. I have written to CH products company recently to see if they can mediate a resolution if its a hardware or driver problem. But I believe it must have been the corrupted Control folder. Can someone assist me with this; or better yet, email me a copy of their controls xml. My email is [email protected]. I'd appreciate whatever advise and/or assistance. It has been frustrating 3 weeks of not flying at all. Thanks in advance. Graham

Graham,Redo your files using the setup within FSX. I went a little crazy when I could not use my yoke and pedals the same. After proper setup, I am happier than the setup within FS9. You don't need anything special except understanding the commands for FSX.It works great.

Thanks indeed for your reply, John. Please clarify what you meant by redoing files using setup within FSX. If you meant the control xml then I am not that saavy to alter/redo anything from there, hence my problem. I also tried reassigning buttons and keys from within FSX and FS9 to no avail. Uninstalling and reinstalling FSX twice did nothing to remedy the problem. I am really dumgusted and flabafounded right now and its killing my sim spririt. Could you elaborate a bit more as to how you were able to solve your setup satisfactorily.Appreciate anyone else's input also.Graham

I can't give you a lot of detail without being on your computer. Start by deleting your FSX config file. You give a clue when you say that the hat switch doesn't work properly. That is native to FSX with the yoke.FSX recognizes the yoke and pedals but most of us like to set them up in a specific way. I set my buttons and switches to suit me.FSX has a lot of commands which are different. For example the paddle switches below the throttle are opposite from what many of us are used to having. In FSX the right paddle operates the gear and the left the flaps. You can change this in the Options, Settings, Controls and make sure you are on the Yoke when you set up your options. I found I was using the keyboard when I meant to use the yoke. You will see how to do it. Its not rocket science.

Hi john, I've been out for a week and did not reply to update you of the problem. Well, I have had no luck with the flight yoke configuration. In fact this morning when trying to set the yoke settings from FSX, I noted that I don't have the Controls XML in its folder anymore. I tried system restore and reinstallation/repair of FSX to no avail. Could you (or anyone) send me copy of your Controls XML? My email address again is [email protected], Graham
