I am looking at adding to my system 3 22" monitors,Matrox th2go anda Nvidia video card.Question are:1.Which Monitor is best Dell, Proview, or ?2 Nvidea Video card 7600,7900 or?All suggestions welcome.ThanksCurtisMy system Specs:Gateway SystemWindows xp Home edition with Service Pack 2Intel Pentium 4 Processor 550 (3.40GHz)1GB (1024MB) DDR SDRAM PC3200 (400MHz) Dual Channel(can be updated to4GB Total)250GB Serial ATA100 7299rpm Hard DrivePresent Video Card Radeon x800xt to be updated

1. Dell (you'll have about a half inch space between screens and they are on sell). Many large monitors have large borders. Be wary.2. 8800GTX (why skimp with 3 big monitors? Go for it!) But a 7600 or 7900 will work just as well. It's nice to see Matrox now has a digital edition which supports two monitors. I saw the Matrox product in action at the last AVSIM conference using 3 27 or 30 inch monitors. FSX ran smoothly and the views were awesome. I might upgrade to the Triple Head someday soon too!Best regards,Jim

Just went from a 7900gtx to an 8800gtx and there is a definite performance leap, not so much in frame rates (although this does improve), but with stuttering, panning, picture quality, AA etc.Although it does not mean much for FSX my 3dmark06 went from 6300 to 11477 at 1280x1024 and about 2300 to 7200 at 3840x1024 - a huge leap.

Regards

Also Matrox TH2Go will only support a maximum resolution of 3 lots of 1280x1024.My advice is if you want to go down the TH2Go route is to get 3 19" monitors because you'll be running them at native resolution and will get much sharper results.Otherwise go for an nVidia card (the 7950GTX or 8800GTX) and buy 2 24" widescreen monitors and SPAN the image across those 2 monitors. You will get a split down the centre of your display..but in many ways this mimics real aircraft. You can always offset the outside view so that the runway lines up just inside the left-hand monitor (as it would in real life).RegardsJim

JimYour right TH2go does not suport 3 22" widescreen. Lookslike I will have to settle for 3 19".The 2 24" would be nice butto great of a cost. Now as to the Nvidiavideo card would I see a big difference between 7900,7950 andthe 8800.ThanksCurtis>>I am looking at adding to my system 3 22" monitors,Matrox>>th2go and>>a Nvidia video card.>>Question are:>>1.Which Monitor is best Dell, Proview, or ?>>2 Nvidea Video card 7600,7900 or?>>>Are you looking for 22" Widescreen or normal aspect ratio>(4x3)?>As far as I'm aware the Matrox TH2Go does not support>widescreen (yet)>and I am not aware of any 22" screens that come in 4x3 format.> Also Matrox TH2Go will only support a maximum resolution of 3>lots of 1280x1024.>>My advice is if you want to go down the TH2Go route is to get>3 19" monitors because you'll be running them at native>resolution and will get much sharper results.>Otherwise go for an nVidia card (the 7950GTX or 8800GTX) and>buy 2 24" widescreen monitors and SPAN the image across those>2 monitors. Hey people, I noticed that Matrox are about to release a "DualHead42Go Digital" but it looks like the connector going to the graphics card is still VGA while the connecors from the extension module to the displays is DVI.Q1) If the above is true then how can the extension module provide "Digital" peformance with TFT displays?Q2) Are the Matrox extension modules really worth it if they don't support digital output for TFT dispalys, i.e. can't get best image quality and performance?

A very good monitor is the NEC90GX2 (19inch)it has a very narrow bezel. The only card really to go for is the the 8800. far out performs the rest.If you are a 2D simmer and it's within budget consider connecting a second Matrox module with a further 3 monitors. Giving a combined resoultion of 3840 X 3072.Martin Plain
