April 26, 200719 yr Hi,Further investigation into my C2D/680i project, I think I've settle on the Evga 680i A1 MB. I see plenty of RAM FSB vs Timing discussions over at the EVGA forum regarding lower timings vs higher stock FSB ratings. I prefer Corsair and so I can't decide on whether the XMS 800 with C4 timings is as good as XMS 1066 with C5 timings. Especially where FS9 & FSX is concerned, and it's unique heavy loading on the CPU. General hardware forums don't take FS into account very often, so I pose the question here, among my knowledgeable friends and peers. Your opinions and expereince? Also, can someone please confirm for me that the Evga 680i-A1 MB has a HARDWARE raid-5 option? I.e., there's an option for raid-5 in the NV Sata BIOS screen, during boot setup? I've read the online manual that states you can setup raid-5 using the Storage Manager software but on our older NForce4 boards, this manager could only do software-based raid-5 and I'd like to confirm that this is not the case on the 680 chipset. Thanks again for your valued input.:-beerchug Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
