June 5, 200719 yr It's a question I've long wanted to ask, but I never did, so, tonight I tried to find out by myself, but the results weren't the best...I have a new system with an ASUS 7600GS Silent (512MB) on it, so, I re-installed WindowsXP, FSX and was looking for "perfect" settings. One thing I did for the very first time in my life was installing the official drivers from the graphics card maker (ASUS). They're based on the official Nvidia drivers, but have a couple of interesting (including overclocking...) applications.Well, I usualy set my display properties in MSFS, leaving the option for anti-aliasing and filtering set to "Application Controled" on the Nvidia control panel, and since my new system allows for it, I even enabled Antialiasing :-) But.... I was willing to know if things would be different if I set my display properties directly in the Nvidia Control Panel and not on FSX.I tried both ways: Set on Nvidia and on FSX vs. Set on Nvidia but disabled on FSX...The results in the first case weren't that different from what I am used to, and in the second case I got a pixelized world in FSX...SO, here's my "desperate" question: How do you set it?A) Nvidia panel set to application controlled;:( Nvidia panel set to proper antialiasing and filtering options and fsx set with none;C) Both (Nvidia panel and FSX Display options) set accordingly???Looking forward for your answers/suggestions...
June 5, 200719 yr Try the hardware forum, lots of advice on card setup in there. In the meantime, open FSX.cfg and delete any/all fields you see beginning with (DISPLAY.Device... )Reboot the sim, and reset the res and AA preference.Allcott
