You could try deleting fsx.cfg and let FSX rebuild it to see if that makes a difference. Backup fsx.cfg first!

The only time I have ever seen spikes was due to the driver release for my video card. I had to use another release. However, that was a few years ago.

I have tried SweetFX with FSX and no joy. Got .8 fps when I first installed SweetFX. lol Without SweetFX FSX it's fine. I use SweetFX for my Stalker games (and mods) and it works great. Again, I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I have used Avira for many years, and never had a virus, and had no problems with it other than a false positive every so often which all antivirus software report. However I am currently using Premium Security Suite 2010.As of now I wouldn't switch to any other antivirus software. I had to many problems with them, especially Symantec.Aivra support is among the best and with good information sent to them they should be able to correct any problems with the newer version.
