June 20, 200718 yr Dear friends, I'm building a new system only for my incoming FSX: Core Duo 6600, 2GB main memory, 24 inch 1920x1200 LCD, etc.Considering the video card, I narrowed it down to NVIDIA 8800 gts 320 mb, or 640 mb.The 320 mb version is considerably (1/3) cheaper. Does it worth the extra money to get the 640 mb version, if I plan to run FSX at 1920x1200, major effects maxed out? Or FSX simply does not address more than 320 mb video memeory? Please help me to decide!
June 20, 200718 yr I dig out this thread which very much answers my question:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...e=&topic_page=2Yes, I will go with 640mb.
June 20, 200718 yr One time someone asked Microsoft FS team "how much video ram does FS use", and their answer was, "all that you have".So I would get as much vidram as I could afford.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
