June 26, 200718 yr Hi all, many thanks to all who have helped with my other problems. Here is the next one I would appreciate some help with.I have succesfully installed an AMD Athlon 4200+ Dual Core and all is running well.I have it to run at 10% overclocked in the Bios which is a simple thing to do.It is running at 2420.However I would like to increase this but can only do so manually. Can someone give me some guidance on how to do this.I have the confidence to do it but am not sure exactly how.I'm not being funny guys but please SIMPLE step by step instructions with no jargon and definately not too technical.ASUS A8N-E MotherboardAthlon 64 4200+ Dual CoreAti RX800 TD256E GraphicsThanks in advance.RegardsRichard.
June 27, 200718 yr Well it gets a little technical to manually OC....But it is doable...you'll be fine as long as you can read and do some easy math... of you'll also need a lot of patience and time, so if you don't have that, then forget about manually OCing..Here's a few links to get started http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=57148http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview.as...7&enterthread=yhttp://asustech.15.forumer.com/index.php?showtopic=622http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Guides/a64ochowtohttp://math.gogar.com/athlon64.cgi | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
June 27, 200718 yr As you say,it does get technical.I think I will leave it at the 10% that the system allows. But many thanks anyway.RegardsRichard
June 27, 200718 yr hehehe....could I persuade you anyway?I know where you're coming from....I was in the same boat a few month ago, but did successfully OC my PC. It's just that it didn't really like the OC (or a few programs didn't) so I restored it back to stock 2.2 just a month or two ago.It was a lot of fun (and learning) and it gave me a little extra boost - I had a 20% OC on my system... I called some guys here on the phone and they helped a lot... if you read those links and do some research anyone with more experience than me would prolly be able to help!!! | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
