Usual Nvidia problem with a twist.

Featured Replies

Well, as you can see from my signature, my setup is no slouch.I have my FPS locked in at 40 and everything maxed out.Ever since I got my new machine, I suffered from the usual Nvidia quirks (black screen on flight selection, no real AA etc.) and have been trying all sorts of possibilities including nHancer.I was not very happy will all my "solutions" and was about to give up, when I thought I would try the big no-no, ie. enable AA in FS9.So I set up my Nvidia 8800 GTX to use the application setting and ticked the box for AA in FS9, expecting the worst.I was very surprised to find very effective AA and no discernible hit to my frame rates.Even at the very detailed airports like KPDX (Portland) and my many Russian airports, FPS stayed locked at 40.Apologies if this has already been discussed.

Like you John I was getting the usual Nvidia visual fodder. That is until yesterday when I broke open the wallet and bought the ATi Sapphire X1950XT 512mb.It took all of one flight with AA/AF at max with no black screen at all for me to come to the conclusion that Nvidia will never reside in anymore of my machines.Glad you got yours working to John Cheers
