Hi everyone,I recently installed a new E6600 in my rig. I was very happy with my initial performance, and since then I've been messing with clock speeds and such. Once I settled on a clock speed (2.88 up from 2.4 Ghz) I noticed that my performance in FS was very volatile - there would be flashes of 40 FPS, and flashes of 5 FPS, but things would generally stay around 20FPS, which is worse than I was getting initially.After playing around with settings for a bit, I tried turning off Vanderpool (Hyperthreading) in the BIOS. It was like a different computer - suddenly I was steady at 30FPS.What's going on here? Isn't Vanderpool Virtualisation Technology, not HT, or are they the same thing?Gary

I've done some research, and it does look like it's virtualization. Good catch.But my question still stands - why the heck was this playing such havoc with FS?Thanks,Matt

Dunno, but my son's E4300 @ 3.2GHz, which comes naturally without VT, seems to be very smooth. I'll run some tests to see whether there is anything in this.Gary
