Yea, that's kinda my thought too. The EVA folks were working on something to help their 680i mobo with the Quad cores. Might want to check their forums. This is Nvidia's first chipset for Intel CPUIs and they are having growing pains.

I think I should end this question now.the summary of "limited" overclock issue is the 680i chipset iteself. It still not "fully" support to Quad core CPU's OC. I do not know the deep detail as I am just a consumer level. Someone do the modified the board and make it happen, but I wont do that as I m not such a pro user and know so much technical stuff.I was considering to change a new one from the shop. However, when I go to Asus forum to take a look at other board like P5K (P35) series. Some board seems have no better luck than the 680i about the Quad core OC issue. They all have similar problem. This issue ONLY apply to Quad core, nothing relate to Duo core, Duo is fine for any OC. Anyway, I hope this can be and will be solved by newer BIOS update. Well... I hope.Thank you very much for all you guys' comment and answer. I learns a lot. Thanks!Good luck and happy flyingAlkit

Not to confuse the issue but I read that the EVGA 680i board was the one having problems and only on certain revisions. The later board revisions o/c fine.Visit the Virtual Pilot's Centerwww.flightadventures.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/

EVGA found the problem and REPLACE a new mobo to the owner. This is what Asus will not do :(Perhaps they think this can be fixed "softly" in BIOS by future. I m hoping so.I just wrote to Asus and report and complain about it. They do reply me within 24 hrs (appreciate). Will discuss further with the tech. guy. Hope he can be a real help or a true answer to the problem.Alkit
