Hi All,I am looking at purchaing a new PC and would like your thourghts on Vigor Gaming PCs (http://www.vigorgaming.com). The system I am looking at is config as below.Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad-Core Processor QX6850 at 3.00GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 2X4M Cache Vigor MonsoonTM II TEC Active CPU Cooling System with LCD Display and Triple 120MM Case FanTagan TG1100-U96 TurboJet nVidia-SLI Certified 1100Watt Power SupplyAsus Striker Extreme NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI Intel Quad Core Ready 4GB Corsair TWIN2X2048-8500C5D X 2 DDR2 1066MHz Memory (4 X 1024MB) 2 X WD Raptor 150GB WD RAPTOR S-ATA 10000RPM 16MB Cache Hard Drive withRAID 0 Performance - Striped Drives500GB S-ATA II 7200 RPM Hard DrivenVidia GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB Xtreme Edition @600MHz, DVI and TV OutSamsung Internal SATA S18SA 18X LIGHTSCRIBE DVD+/- RW + CDRW Rewritable DriveCreative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Retail Edition Onboard Gigabit (10/100/1000Mbps) PCI Network CardViewsonic VG2030WM 20.1QuoteMark Widescreen 1680X1050 800:1 5ms LCD Monitor 1.44MB 3.5QuoteMark Floppy Drive Plus 8-in-1 Card Reader Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit w/Original DVD Price: $4694Looking forward to your feedbackChris

System:

Case: (OVERCLOCKED to 4.8GHz) Intel Core i7 Processor i7-2700K, Cooling: Corsair HYDRO H100 ENCLOSED LIQUID COOLING SYSTEM, MOBO: Asus P8Z68 DELUXE, RAM:16GB (4 x 4GB) 1600MHz with COOLMAX MEMORY HEAT SPREADERS, HD1:Western Digital BLACK 2TB, HD2: 300GB WD Raptor, Graphic Card: nVidia GeForce GTX580 1536MB, Case: Thermaltake Level 10 GT, PSU:THERMALTAKE 1000W, OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Never heard of that company before. It looks like a nice system but maybe overkill??? I'd go with an E6850 instead of the CPU you list...and a 1100w psu??? sheesh... I'd also save some cash and go for the 8800 GTS 640mb edition.... Of course if those are not options it's ok....but the 8800 GTX for FSX is shear overkill... If you play other games like STALKER, BF2142, or Oblivion, it might be worth it to you - especially at high resolutionGood luck!

Here's how you could do it:Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad-Core Processor QX6850 at 3.00GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 2X4M Cache$300 Q6600/GO @ 3.6 (that's 20% faster than the part that is offered. You cannot buy a CPU this fast.) Vigor MonsoonTM II TEC Active CPU Cooling System with LCD Display and Triple 120MM Case Fan$100 (Yea, yea . . . Case, 1 each, + Thermalright CPU cooler) Tagan TG1100-U96 TurboJet nVidia-SLI Certified 1100Watt Power Supply$100 (OCZ, ~600 watt Gamestream)Asus Striker Extreme NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI Intel Quad Core Ready$200 (the 680i is old stuff. The X38 is the current-gen mobo)4GB Corsair TWIN2X2048-8500C5D X 2 DDR2 1066MHz Memory (4 X 1024MB)$200 (DDR2-800, 2 x 2gig. Much better setup. Patriot, Crucial, whatever) 2 X WD Raptor 150GB WD RAPTOR S-ATA 10000RPM 16MB Cache Hard Drive withRAID 0 Performance - Striped Drives500GB S-ATA II 7200 RPM Hard Drive$300 (we'll talk)nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB Xtreme Edition @600MHz, DVI and TV Out$300 (8800GTS. The G92 will be out in Nov) Samsung Internal SATA S18SA 18X LIGHTSCRIBE DVD+/- RW + CDRW Rewritable Drive$30 (Oh my! so fancy) Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Retail Edition$0 (On board sound is fine)Onboard Gigabit (10/100/1000Mbps) PCI Network Card$0 (It's in the mobo!)Viewsonic VG2030WM 20.1QuoteMark Widescreen 1680X1050 800:1 5ms LCD Monitor$149.991.44MB 3.5QuoteMark Floppy Drive Plus 8-in-1 Card Reader$20Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit w/Original DVD$100 (OEM) How 'bout ~ $1600 . . . or they'll be happy to take your money! I am always stunned by this kind of pricing. Voodoo and Falcon NW are even worse. http://www.falcon-nw.com/config/build.aspBuyer beware. Poke around the posts here in the forum, then build this thing yourself. "Build" is an entirely overstated description. It's more like snappin' together an old Lego-log cabin. The $3000 you'll save will buy you a real nice 46" LCD to sim-on . . . and all your simmin' pals pizza?
