twitchy display and latest DirectX

Featured Replies

Ever since I installed Acceleration (which updated DirectX), I've been having problems with a 'twitchy display'. It's horizontal size fluctuates (it 'twitches').I tried updating my nvidia driver to the latest version and that actually made it worse. I did a system restore in the hopes that it would undo the updates to DirectX but it didnt.Does anyone know of any way (other than reinstalling XP and everything) to restore my DirectX to the way it was before Acceleration/SP2?thanks for your help.

thanks Geoff but I never have self shadowing checked due to performance.the weird part is that I can start my system and it will be stable but then I will run FSX and it will get twitchy (especially if I open the GPS) and then even after I exit FSX, my display remains twitchy.I'm sure it was fine before. I'm sensitive to visual instabilities (epilepsy - TLE, to be exact :) )EDIT: can DX be uninstalled via sfusion.dll (aka GAC)? I find 18 obvious files and 2 versions of 'system' but I think I know which one.I just dont know what will happen if I uninstall those assemblies.I guess if I have to reinstall anyway...
