Graphic card memory second monitor

Featured Replies

Is the following true: When I want to use a second monitor on my graphic card and I want the same performance as with one monitor do I need double the graphic card memory.

Graphics cards are not just memory deposits. In theory you wouldn't just double the memory you'd need to double the pixel pipelines, double the vertex processors and double the shader processors. However if your graphics card is only ever working at 50% of it's capacity then you wouldn't have to do anything you could run 2 monitors at the same performance level from the same card.In fact there are a great number of 256MB cards that are far superior to many 512MB cards because they have more powerful Graphics Processor Units on boardCompare the 2 Blue barshttp://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_200...2=856&chart=292RegardsJim
