January 9, 200818 yr "Looking at a mainboard with this support. Also, does ATI have a DX10.1 card coming or here?"A quick search would have shown that the Intel X975, P965, P35 and X38 chipsets all have Cross Fire Support. The new X38 and upcoming X48 chipsets support Cross Fire with full 16x PCI Express and are PCI-E 2.0. I currently have the Asus Formula Maximus motherboard in one of my systems; this uses the X38 chipset. Right now I

And, a deeper comprehension of the question would have betrayed the fact I was not looking for a listing of mainboards--already did that search. I also did several other searches trying to get a sense of . . . the pros n cons of crossfire, for example, are some apps not able to utilize it? Must it be supported by the specific app? Things like that :() Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. January 11, 200818 yr Sorry I thought that you were looking for motherboards that supported Cross Fire.To try and answer your question, I

January 11, 200818 yr I've used SLI on a pair of 7900GTs with very little benefit realized on a majority of titles. I've reached the conclusion that a single high speed card is usually better than two slower cards (bang for the buck if you would), unless you can obtain two high end cards and money is no object. If that is the case, you can expect up to a 20% to 30% boost in performance, especially at high resolutions, on some titles only. Many benchmarks exist online on the subject comparing the two technologies, and it seems the driver is the primary culprit when it comes to what works well for some games, and what doesn't.FSX does not benefit from 2 video cards from what I've seen and from my own experience. In fact, there is a decrease in performance. However, FSX benefits from 2 (or more) video cards if you are not running in SLI or XFire mode, but rather using multiple monitors. That works quite well in fact, as each card can drive two monitors (depends on the memory on the card).Hope this helps,Etienne
