Hello everyone, im pretty new here, but I am looking for some help on my computer. I have terrible FPS within FS9 and want to find out what i should do to bring the frames up.My specs are..AMD Athlon 64 Processor (2.22 GHz)2 GB of RAMRadeon X1300 256mbAre there any other specs i should post? What do you think is bottlenecking my computer? Do you think i should get decent frames with this setup?Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks,Nick Johnstonhttp://www.metroairvirtual.com/

Anyone... please? Haha.

You have about the same setup I have. You should be running 80+ fps with FS9...it should be totally smooth and fluid. Something is wrong in your setup. Did you look at the "system optimization" pinned thread here in the hardware forum? That is the place to start for you.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

Thanks for your reply, Mace. I cant quite find the "system optimization" thread, as im not used to these type of forums, and cannot find where the stickies are! Haha. I will see if i can do a search or something. Thats incredible that you get 80 FPS while i struggle to get 30.

My fps range in FS9 is anywhere from about 30 to 120, depending on where I am flying, how much AI traffic there is, and what aircraft I'm flying.Regarding the pinned hardware thread. It appears to be gone! I wonder what happened to it? Anyone know?RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

bump :)

You need to be more specific about the software you're running. Here's a generic list of things to do, in no particular order:1) Disable all anti-virus2) reduce your running processes to under 30, preferably about 22-23.3) disable all startup apps4) defrag often5)Google "TweakGuides Tweaking Companion". This is the definitive Windows optimizing guide. Read it. Do what it says. :)6) use a driver cleaning program such as the one at Guru3D.7) install a good WHQL-certified video driverDon't know why AVSIM moved or fat fingered the pinned hardware thread, but if you do the above you'll be on the right track.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian
