January 22, 200818 yr My desktop PC broke and has been replaced with a high end laptop from M-tech (Win XP Pro). This has no DVI out, but luckily the VGA out port runs the old desktop display just fine in analogue, making for a quick double monitor setup for moving maps, radio stacks, gps, etc.Now then, I also have an old Dell laptop (WinXP home)which has busted dialup modem and LAN ports. The USB ports and the PC cardbus ports are fine. Everything else is fine as well.Local shop tells me it is almost impossible to fix at a resonable price because the broken LAN circuitry is hard wired into the main board.Does it sound reasonable when they say that there isn't a way to add LAN thru the laptop's PC cardbus slots? 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel.
