That's it! At least for now - I've given up with Vista and reistalled XP-Pro.I was spending well over 3/4 of my PC time trying to *fix* things!BIG problem now though.... Although XP is ok on my C drive, the other three hard drives will no longer format under XP. Vista obviously doesn't like being removed. What can I do - any ideas? Thanks

Hi Dougal,Have you tried running the Format command from the Command Prompt?START - Run... and then type cmd followed by to open the Command Prompt window. At the prompt type format ( drive: ) /FS:NTFSFor ( drive: ) substitute the drive letter of the drive to be formatted, e.g. D: or E: or F: etc.Mike

Dougal,What Mike said. If that doesn't do it, can you 'see' the drives in Device Manager? If so, right-click one of the non-formattable drives and be sure it's enabled. If so, and you still can't format make sure you have all your current mobo chipset drivers etc. installed. Maybe worst case, boot from your XP disk, let it go through its thing as if you're going to install and you should see all your drives there. Should be able to format then, though be *seriously* sure you know which drive is which ;-)jb[a href=http://exmixer.com/]Windows utility links/FS9/FSX stuff[/a]Falcon Northwest Mach VIntel C2D Extreme X6800EVGA 680i4 GB Corsair Twin2Xx2048-8500C5BFG 8800GTXDual-boot XPPro/Vista Ult.Full specs in the link above on the FS page link there.
