New laptop - recommended settings?

Featured Replies

Bought a new laptop with the following specs:Intel Core 2 Duo T7700Nvidia Geforce 8600GT4GB RamVista 64bitI was hoping to run FS9 with acceptable performance with the sliders to max. but so far this haven't been possible. Is there anyone here with a similar system who could give som advice regarding settings to use? For the moment AA seems to be the biggest problem. Turning it on via nHancer gives a huge drop in FSP, at low settings. The same result if I turn it on in FS9. I have a selected I high screen resolution, 1680x1050, both in windows and FS9, but selecting any lower settings gives me blurry textures and it doesn't look good at all.I would think this system should be sufficient for FS9?

Strange thing. Deleted nHancer and adjusted the settings via Nvidia controlpanel. As I expected, the FPS was still low. But after a couple of restarts for some other reasons (no settings changed), I started FS9 again, and the FPS was three times as high. I hadn't done anything with the settings since the last time I tried...But today I adjusted the settings to try to get rid of some shimmering with the FLyTampa airports, with the result that the FPS dropped again. Changed back to the settings I used, but still low FPS. A restart didn't help either.Seems like my computer is playing tricks with me...Anyone experienced anything like this before?
