February 5, 200818 yr FINALLY!!! I let my ATI control panel override my refresh rate from the standard 60 to 75, now I'm getting smoother flying. The stutters dont seems to be there. Im going to keep playing with the settings a bit more. Wish me luck. I want to thank everone for helping me out with the many postings I have posted here in the hardware forum since Nov 07.Happy siminBill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
February 6, 200818 yr Sounds like you're making headway. If your refresh rate is 75 make sure to set your framerates to 25 in sim.For some reason I can't link to the thread I posted in a few days ago but if your do a search for "ATI HD3870 BAD SHIMMERING ON FS9 (XP or Vista)" by member "consoletitaman" in the HW Forum read my post #4 for more info.Good luck,
February 6, 200818 yr Author Hi Greg, why set it to 25? It seemed allot smoother at 30.Thanks,Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
February 6, 200818 yr 25 is 1/3 of 75... which matches perfectly the card's triple buffering capabilities. More info here.
February 6, 200818 yr Author I dont see an option for triple buffering with my control panel. I have the Omega 7.10 series (ATI Tray Tools v1.3.6.1064)Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
February 6, 200818 yr Follow my instructions as posted in the thread last week to enable triple buffering control within ATI Tray Tools.
February 6, 200818 yr Author Hi Greg, I tried searching for the thread but cant locate it.Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
February 7, 200818 yr Author I think I tuned on triple buffer, however the screen in FS9 when not in full screen mode is completely black. I cant see anything until I get Ctrl+Enter to full screen.Bill Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)
