February 13, 200818 yr Of course there are alot of third party Windows based overclocking utilities, and few of them are worth using. But now AMD is offering one of their own... as seen on the AMD website.Looks to have many options, although the simple rule that overclocking should be done in the BIOS still applies. Evenso, this new utility will be nice for testing/monitoring within Windows.http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_overdrive.aspxKudos AMD,
February 13, 200818 yr I'm tempted to OC my AMD6000, but a little scared lol!I still think I'd go through the BIOS anyway | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
February 16, 200818 yr Yes yes, software programs are good for the monitoring part not so much the actual clocking... OCing you do through your bios, but indeed kudos to AMD for bringing good news.@Ryan, ofcourse it will void warranty and all, its still fun and if you study up enough you can do so albeit on your own risk do a small overclock without doing any major harm..Its the major clocks that could potentially kill systems.. Myself seen a good deal of 2nd hand CPUs go up in smoke learning the tricks back in the day.Check the forums over at www.extremeoverclocking.com its a good read what other AMD 6000 owners have done. ;)Regards,
