Opinions Please..........

Hey Guys,I've always valued many of your opinions over the years when it comes to hardware and it performs with MS FS. I'm just wondering what some of you think of this rig and how FS9 would perform on it.........FSX too, but I haven't purchased that yet. I can get a pretty good deal on this, just wondering if it's worth it..........http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Velocity-Mi...roductDetail.dohope the link goes through..........if not I'll re-post later. Thanks for any input...........John

Hi,I'll give you play-by-play analysis of the components.AMD Phenom 9500. It's AMD's new quad core. It is all right, but Intel's Core 2 Quad Q6600 beats a Phenom 9900, and is slightly cheaper.500 GB 7200 RPM hard drive is more than enough. It is great.NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT...hm...well if you aren't gaming at higher resolutions (1600x1200 or higher), it's a great card. For just about $100 more, an 8800 GT gives you much better performance. 8800 GT beats the 320/640 MB 8800 GTSs by quite a margin, and is VERY slightly slower than a GTX. If you stick with lower resolutions, this 8600 GT is an OK choice.3 GB of DDR2 memory is nice, because FSX will only use 2 GB, and Vista still has another gig to use.Vista 32 is good for your computer because you do not have 4 GB of RAM, in which case 64-bit is better since it will recognize the extra RAM.Of course, this is all my opinion. Most of it is your personal preference. For about $1400, which is the price of your specified rig, I built my system ;).Regards,BoeingGuy
