I hope this is appropriate for the Hardware forum. I like to have 2 different control configurations between flying planes and helis. Whats an easy way to switch configs without having to map out the buttons each time?

Whats an easy way to switch configs without having>to map out the buttons each time?Purchase a registration for FSUIPC and you can make custom configs for any aircraft you wish. It is the easiest way to make custom configurations.

Make a copy of your FS9.exe or FSX.exe file and call it Choppers.exe (or whatever name you choose). Create a new icon and start Choppers and set up your joysticks and buttons the way you like them for helis. End Choppers and you'll find a new config file named choppers.cfg.Now start flight sim as you always have for airplanes and you'll be using the original FS9.cfg or FSX.cfg file. Start it with the Choppers icon and you'll use Choppers.cfg.R-EDIT to add: I just rmembered there is one more step if you are using FSX. The controller settings are stored in an XML file. The default name is Standard.XML. I have several files with names like Standard_GA_Prop.XML, Standard_Turboprop.XML, Standard_Jet.XML, etc. The various config files that I use each calls a different XML controls file.R-
