Hypothetic Question... Could The PS3 Run FS X

Featured Replies

I was thinking today, Would the PS 3 be powerful enough to run. I was just thinking imagine FSX in full 1080p. It would look insane. I no Microsoft would release it on xbox360 but with ps3 being a good amount more powerful it would run better on that. Especially with the built in browsers that they comes with ps3 I could see it working. With bluetooth peripherals such as joy sticks and such it could be a good idea.

lol maybe but sony didnt add any anti aliasing into the ps3 and in other areas like ram etc pcs are better.

Why would you think that FSX at 1080P would look insane? Any high end video card will do 1920x1200 with ease. 1080P is only 1920x1080 resolution, not to mention that FSX is CPU bound anyway and it doesn

Yeah the 9800gtx is in no way an upgrade, its a downgrade. The ps3 would not be able to run fsx. Consoles dont have nearly as much power as highend pc's.

>>The ps3 would not be able to run fsx. Consoles dont have>nearly as much power as highend pc's.If FSX had been developed for a console it most likely would have performed better than on a PC. Why? Because like I said earlier FSX would have been designed for a specific hardware spec, PS3 or XBOX 360. Consoles do not have to be as powerful as a PC because the games are optimized for the hardware.

If a 2,5 gig core 2 duo, an 7900 GTX and a computer with say 2 gig ram could run it at full 1080p then maybe maybe but doubtful the PS 3 could run it at similar settings. But problem is definiatly lack of memory on it and it

Again, if FSX was developed for the console it would not be the same FSX that you have running on your PC, it would be designed and optimized for a specific hardware spec. Yeah that may be true, but it would be toned down and optomized alot more. A ps3 has nowhere near the cpu power of a c2d or c2q cpu at 4.0ghz with 4gb of ram, and thats not even near enough.

True but what is the point of running the sim at 1920x1080p then if you have to sacrifice all the detail? Then it

They are all lacking in term of detail, texture quality, anisotrophic filtering. anti aliasing, lightning and shadows... The one that come closest is Gears of Wars but yes even that is lagging behind and the pc port look way better despite being ported from the 360... And the 360 is rendering in 720p not 1080p...If you have an older computer your mileage may vary of course ;)

>They are all lacking in term of detail, texture quality,>anisotrophic filtering. anti aliasing, lightning and>shadows...The two games I play the most with my XBOX 360 are Forza 2 and Project Gotham 4, neither of which are lacking in image quality or performance. GT5 for the PS3 promises to be just as good. http://www.bizarrecreations.com/games/pgr4/screenshots.phphttp://forzamotorsport.net/media/screenshots/screenshots.htmAnother title I picked up is ACE Combat 6, which has some of the best graphics I
