HiI'm really annoyed today - my Mesh PC (18 months old) has practically blown up. I need a new PC.Anyway - I need a recommendation for this. Its primary use will be for FSX and I don

I have been eyeing up some of the offerings at pcspecialist.co.uk for a cheap PC until it becomes clear whether Nehalem will be a worthwhile upgrade. The big advantage is they don't make you buy a graphics card or o/s, so you can re-use your own.As for specs: to my way of thinking (using the brands sold at pcspecialist) it's a toss up between 2 options:1. E8500, with a view to overclocking to 4+GHz on an Asus P5K with 4Gb of 1033 MHz DDR2 RAM, the expensive cooler and 800W+ of power; or2. Q6600, with a view to overclocking to 3.6GHz on an Asus P5K with 4Gb of 800 MHz DDR2 RAM, the expensive cooler and 800W+ of power.Either option is easily attainable within

I do not know where you are from and the availability but....Find a local, established computer store and have them build it for you.Go in with a list specing out the machine, hardware.Visit Newegg and get their prices, print, write them down so you have an idea of what it REALLY cost and let him see it so he knows.1st you will save money, sometimes 1/2 over the premade. You have more control of getting exactly what you want. And for me the biggest plus. Knowing if something goes wrong, help is just a short drive away.

Newegg prices aren't going to be much good to him in the UK.
