Recommended LCD Displays

I'm looking for an LCD display for between $300-$400. 22" or 24". Widescreen.Running off a (soon to be) system with a 9800 GX2. I've got an LG 22" Flatron screen.. best monitor I've ever had.Just adjust the factory brightness & color settings a bit to your liking..

I have a ViewSonic VX2235wm which has been a great monitor, fantastic color, nice and vibrant without being oversaturated.Was well under the $400 price marker when I bought it. It's now going almost 1.5 years old for me and still running strong and still very colorfull.The built in speakers are nothing to speak of, however if you just want some sound out of them when flying in the the middle of the night when everybody else in the house is sleeping then they do the trick, aproximately about the sound you would get out of laptop speakers, so as I said, nothing really to speak of, but functional.The one downside (most won't find it to be a downside however) is the ultra piano black gloss faceplate of the monitor. In some situations, such as the one Im in, the gloss black is so reflective that it can be annoying, however I do admit it looks ultra nice on the desktop when there isn't sunlight streaming through the window to my right. I should expand on this, it's only the "faceplate" of the monitor that has the piano gloss black color, the actualy monitor part itself is sort of a matt finish so it doesn't have any reflection that I can see or enough that it would annoy me in any way. It's purely the surround of the case that is a bit annoying seeing my fingers typing in reflection under the viewable part of the monitor on the "case" part.No dead pixels so far and it's been almost 1.5 years of every day use. No other problems with it either so far (keeping fingers crossed that I don't jinx myself now).The only thing I would do differently if I were looking for a monitor today, is go for the 24" monitor or maybe even a 26" monitor because simply as time passes by of using the any monitor, they start to look smaller and smaller. I remember when I first got this one and set it up and thought how massive it looked, now it looks pretty dinky small after 1.5 years. Im now looking myself to buy a 26" monitor (as stepping up to a 24 from a 22 isn't worth the costs).So I guess, get the best monitor you can get and the largest best monitor you can get now, instead of thinking of upgrading later.Max resolution on a 22" LCD panel is 1680x1050 and I wish it was higher, I guess that is the real downfall to me of a 22" monitor.__________________________________________Stats according to the Viewsonic website:http://www.viewsonic.com/products/lcddispl...eries/vx2235wm/Full 22" viewable widescreen with 1680x1050 resolution ClearMotiv
