October 16, 200817 yr Hmmm, the 4GB of RAM is pretty much pointless since you won't be going with a 32bit operating system... :(Everything else looks good. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
October 17, 200817 yr It's perfect. Get Vista 64 as soon as you can. When you're up and running, we'll help get that Q6600 up to 3.6Ghz. You will then have an FSX system that is within 10% of anything available at any price.
October 18, 200817 yr hidear d17sthanx for ur reply but i have some question plzmy cpu is 6600 2.4 and i have a good cooler (how do i over clock it)my fps is broken camming 9 and 8 sometime and max 20 when i lock it at 25 but the fps is not stable it is always droping and comming up like crazy up dowm what should i do????:(i am using for now xp 32bita friend of mine have a nvidia quadro fx but i am not sure about the number so is this a perfect card for fsx and beeter then i have 9800gtx+?i am usingg addons like xgraphic fix tree v2 world ground envorment so is those addon effect my fsx regarding the fpswhat seeting should i use plz on my nvidia 9800gtx+ control panel and on fsx setup too??it is too muuch questions but i really need helpthanx
October 18, 200817 yr First make sure your ram is rated at least "DDR2-800." For a Q6600, set the Front side buss to 400 and the CPU's voltage to 1.45. That's it. That will get the Q to 3.6Ghz.Once you have run with the O/C CPU, check back on that frames issue. What airplane? The quatro is an industrial card. The 9800GTX is all FSX can use.Actually GEX will improve FPS. I expect that tree addon would too. Setup they GTX like this: There's no real need for the nHancer program. Just use the settings in this guide to set up the regular Nvidia control panel. http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_post...D=156769#156769However if you use the new PMDG MD11, you'll find the small fonts in the Vcockpit is giving video cards a rough time. There's something in that Nhancer setup that helps. You might try it. Here's a setup for that Q at 3.6.Just as a 'for instance,' here's a setup to make comparisons:This is [email protected]/4G-Ram@800Mhz/9800GTX+/42" monitor at 19x10 - in windowed mode - . Two other 19" monitors are running with other FSX windows (CDU's, etc) and email clients, flightaware web pages, etc.nHancer 8xS AA, 16AF, etc. (I think it's the AA 8xS, but something here is helping clean-up the Vcockpit).FSX setting tabs setup:Graphics: Frame target unlimited, Res, 19x10x32. Trilinear/AA off. Global Tex 100%. Lens Flare/Adv Anim on.Aircraft: Vcockpit. Hi-res on. Exterior Settings, all on.Weather: 60mi clouds. Scenery: Left side (These are all Vcard related except water). All sliders 100% except water at 2xLow and ground shadows off. Right side (These are all CPU related. Play with these for FPS dial-in). Scenery Complex 100%, AG 25%, GS off, SE 100%.Traffic (These are all CPU related. Play with these for FPS dial-in): All Off.Installed scenery: UTX/GEX/FSG scenerys. From the Vcockpit.Running an LAX approach starting at ~ 5000ft, through rollout. fully coupled approach/autoland with both 744 and the MD11.744: 15 - 20FPS. Flyable, but a little choppy.MD11: 15 - 20FPS. Flyable, but completely smooth, AND Autogen can be increased to 100% And It Stays Smooth!During the beta, I initially noticed the MD seemed to run smoother. I really missed autogen on approach, but the 744 had always choked with anything above 25% autogen (even that was pushing it). With the MD, I was able to shove AG full right and the MD just kept on truckin'. It is sooo cool to see 3D stuff whizzing by on approach. Just to play, I got it down on the LA deck with AG at 100% and terrorized some neighborhoods at 50 feet. The little houses were flying by, smoooothly. The 744 was a slideshow.I'm not a programmer, but something very different (vs the 744) is going on with this MD11's code. I can almost run my default airplane settings setup with this 'big-dog' airplane. With a good addon traffic program, even a little traffic is possible. The MD11 runs BeTTer than the 744. Definitively better.
October 19, 200817 yr thanx for replyif i over clock the cpu is gona give me more better work for fsx?my mobo is asus p5q pro can i connect two vidio card on in and if yes plz tell me how cuz i am not sure if it have slii am using 9800gtx second card is quadro fx so are they gonna work good of cource my mobo have 2 pci express x16my ram is 2x2gb 800mhzcpu q6600 2.4and what is better lcd wide screen or normal lcd and they must be same manifucture or it doesnt matterthanx guys u are really helping me
October 19, 200817 yr The P5Q pro only has one PCI-e slot. It will only support one PCI-e Vcard. However, it might support a second plain old PCI vcard. That might get a bit difficult. In any case SLI will not work on Any Intel mobo. Only ATI's crossfire works. Intel and Nvidia are having a little war these days. Wide or normal screen is strictly a personal preference. Whatever you like to look at. However all the monitors should be either wide or standard. The actual manufacture does not matter, however picture "look" will differ mfg to mfg. If you are buying them at the same time, try to get identical monitors. I bought four 19 inch standard LCD monitors last time. All identical. The picture qualities all match and they look great spread across my desk. Then my big (new!) Samsung 40"er in the middle for FS'n. Ahhh, what a view.
