Using 2X Saitek Pro throttle quadrants without Saitek Pro Yoke

Featured Replies

Hi there - first post so be nice.Does anyone know if it possible to use two *USB* saitek pro throttle quadrants for twin flying (2x throttle, 2X prop, 2X mixture) if you don't have a Saitek yoke?I know that the yoke comes with 1 quadrant (not USB) and that you can get an additional USB quadrant, but what if you don't have a Saitek Pro yoke?---------------The wordy background information if you're interested:The reason I'm asking is that I have bought the Saitek yoke that comes with a throttle, plus an extra throttle quadrant and the saitek rudder pedals and have spent the last couple of weekends setting them up in FSX using FSUIPC4 where needed.I have to say I'm quite unhappy with the yoke but the pedals and throttles are pretty good. The main frustration with the yoke is that the hardware itself has a null zone of about 1cm shaft travel either side of the pitch neutral indent. This makes it very difficult to hold off and flare correctly when landing and performing simple exercises (in RL) like changing airspeed at a constant altitude is very difficult with the nose bucking up and down annoyingly.Trying to set up a satisfactory home training environment with control problems like this is just causing frustraton!Despite having a metal shaft there are squeeks and it's not a silky smooth action. Yes I have lubed my shaft ;-)So, I've ordered a new PFC Beech yoke and I'm ditching the Saitek and the throttle it comes with (because it comes with a lead that attaches to the yoke only). The remaining yoke I'm left with is USB. It's great and so are the pedals. I would like to buy an additional USB yoke now so that I still have a pair of throttles for flying twins in FSX.Does anyone have any experience of using two USB Saitek throttles in FSX without using the Saitek Pro yoke? Thanks peeps,G-ALEX

You can use two Saitek USB Throttle Quads for what ever you want. Each throttle quad will be treated as a totally seperate input device and the function. The USB throttle Quads are not dependant in anyway on a Pro Yoke. They are independant controllers.
