November 23, 200817 yr Should my newly installed maxcore GTX260 not show 216 cores?Or am I misreading the Caps Viewer?Allenhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194656.jpg
November 23, 200817 yr Apparently there were some of the older 192 version still on the shelves. I had purchased one that was marked 216 on the box, but I believe there were also some that didn't have the 216 designation next to them and at a little lower price. This was at MicroCenter in Houston.Jeff
November 23, 200817 yr Author My box is clearly marked maxcoreThe videocard has a maxcore label on itBut the GPU Caps Viewer says 192Is this a phony card? Its a BFG. should be good
November 23, 200817 yr Author OKFound the problem after checking their siteGPU-Z shows the correct values; 216So it is the first app, GPU Caps Viewer that is wrong...So there is NO problem here you can all relax :-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/194692.jpg
November 23, 200817 yr How do you like that card? I just bought one today from newegg and am going to use it on my new biuld with a i7 940.Jim Jim Wenham
November 24, 200817 yr Author I like itIt performs better than the HD4870-1G that I tried out.Barely hear it and tmps at 49C usuallyFPS steady, not astronomical, and flyby view is smootherAnd it was 100$ less than the 280 which was out of stock there anyways and draws more power and makes more heat.Diff betw 216 cores and 240 ? some
