November 24, 200817 yr Good afternoon,I currently have a Intel E6850 CPU, with 3 Gb RAM on a standard 7200 rpm HDD with a NVidia 8800 GTS 640Mb video Card. Do you think a quad core would be a good step up or is FSX just not programmed well enough to take advantage of more than 2 cores? Thanks!Marc
November 24, 200817 yr A quad core can help FSX texture loading times, and improve FPS during these moments but for the most part the extra cores don't provide any huge benefit. Higher clockspeed is more important to FS performance. I personally run an E8400 at 4GHz and my FS9/FSX performance is better than that of my friend running a Q6600 at 3GHz.
