April 4, 200521 yr Denoden,I am one of the Linux developers so I can't help much with specific windows problems. I can say that most windows XP users get FlightGear running with little or no problem. But like you point out, with PC's there is such a variety of hardware, drivers and driver versions, and windows varients out there, not to mention service packs, and security updates, and other software that get's installed and didles with your system folder, your dll's, and your registery, plus spyware, worms, viruses, and legit software that acts more like a spyware or virus ... so it's difficult to make a piece of software work flawlessly for everyone ... and there are a lot of flawed or damaged windows systems out there that are limping along.I'm sure you are taking small potshots at the FlightGear developers in hopes that will motivate someone to help you, but more likely this will just get you an angry response or at best--even less help than a pleasant request for help would have given you. But it's a free world, use what ever strategy you think works best for you. :-)As another poster stated: We are all volunteers doing this for free. We don't have a big company funding us. We don't have to come and visit this forum. We do it because we like flightgear, we enjoy developing it, we want to help people, and we hope other people will enjoy FlightGear. If FlightGear doesn't work for you, then I encourage you to go spend some money, and get a commercial sim ... I know they are all bug free, perfect, and have every feature you could ever want, so I'm sure you will be much happier there. :-)Best regards,Curt.
April 5, 200521 yr >Seems to be poorly write for those other than Lunix? Let's see you write a better one.>Does this ever go at all for XP? Yes.>This is the first ever OpenGL game I have not been able to get>running and are using the excuse it maybe hardware. It's just>badly written for a lot of windows configurations and hardware>configurations. It is poorly written for Windows because there are not enough Windows Developers working on the project. We know there are a lot of problems encountered by Windows users, but the questions that we really want to answer are "why" and "where?" Frankly, it will be more helpful if you can help us figure out what the problem is, rather than being Mr. Obvious.
April 5, 200521 yr >Like the above topic have th same error messages about not>finding airports and runways, yet have all the recent sound>drivers, and graphics drivers for my PC, which runs XP service>pack 2 home edition. You are looking at the wrong solution for your problem. You will only need to upgrade your drivers if you get this error message:Fatal error: Failed to gen source. As far as I know, error messages about finding airports and runways are not releated to drivers.
